Because Findex is a new independent Windows app, Windows may show a security warning the first time you open it. If that happens, click More info and then Run anyway to continue. This is normal for new apps that haven't yet built up a large install count with Microsoft.

The current version supports TXT, PDF, DOCX, and XLSX files. More formats may be added in future releases.
The first version is being built for Windows. Mac and Linux support is being considered for future releases.
It's possible, but not recommended. Findex is designed to work best when pointed at specific folders — like your Documents, Downloads, or a project directory. Scanning an entire drive can be very slow and may cause performance issues depending on how many files you have. For the best experience, start with the folders where your files actually live.
